We are very lucky to be low enough to be able to step down onto the our beach. The entire property orbits the ocean, all rooms face the water, the “back” lawn awaits our guests with lawn chairs, hammock, and seating area; even our hot tub overlooks the water. Our beach has about 20 yards of rock, which keep the crowds away – if you want to enjoy the beach at low tide and stretch out on the sand banks, you’ll share the entire beach with very few others. Our tides are quite extreme, especially in the summer, so at low tide beach combing and wildlife watching is a favourite activity for our guests. Our wildlife includes, local seals, sea lions swimming back and forth, ocean otters, dolphins and porpoises, orcas, eagles, of course, and a variety of gulls and garden birds. Â Directly on the beach — violet starfish, rock crab, sea urchins, dog fish, clams and oysters are amongst the many different variety of animals.
Infront of our property by the private road, you will find our berry patches, raspberries, blueberries, marionberries and blackberries. And wild berries are thimble and salmon berries in late spring! Often we get to serve breakfast outside, either garden or ocean side.
Walter and I come from a long line of travelers, so our home decor is made up of many generations of collections. Since there is no particular style – it has been called “world fusion” by travel guides. Somehow Chinese, French, Persian, English, Aboriginal art all blend together to make a lovely cozy whole! Our emphasis is on comfort and aesthetics, warmth and welcoming!
We hope you will enjoy our home as much as we do.
Each room looks out across the magnificent Georgia Strait to the coastal mountains beyond and enjoys direct access to the balcony. The “back” lawn with plenty of lounging chairs is also available for guests who would like to enjoy the view and simply relax OR for our more active guests, kayaks are available or lawn bowling and croquet match may appeal. ENJOY! Furthermore games and books for all tastes are available.
Belle Vue is just a short walk from boat rental facilities and a short drive to the shops, restaurants and many events of both Courtenay and Comox.
Experience the pleasure of a relaxing soak in our big outdoor hot tub. It is the perfect spot for sunset watching, stargazing, and taking in the beauty of the Georgia Strait. We truly doubt there is a prettier spot at any Vancouver Island bed and breakfast.
Lots of room for six with seats at varying depths, including one side designed as a lounge chair. The tub offers two sets of jets for strong or gentle whirlpool action and various settings for neck and back massage.
