Sometimes amazing things happen – phone rings and caller tells us that she heard of us via San Francisco Chronicle. On Sunday June 30, 2013 Margo Pfeiff published an article about Comox Valley singing the praises as the “next hot spot for field-to-table cuisine”!
Indeed the Valley does sport some amazing restaurant and eateries – formal (as formal as our island gets :) Locals at the Old House (Courtenay) and Martine’s Bistro (Comox), more casual The Atlas Café , Mad Chef, Bisque, Avenue’s, Common Grounds, Union Street/Grotto (all in Courtenay), upscale pub fare and lovely harbor views at the Blackfin Pub (Comox) – true Fish ‘n Chips at Joe Classen’s are just some of our dining experiences. Many of theses restaurants are supplied by our local farmers, ranchers and fishermen.
And whilst one enjoys being the ultimate foodie Belle Vue B&B was named as the spot to stay, if you are looking for a B&B that is . . . Otherwise Riding Fool Hostel or Old House Hotel and Spa are other notable options.  We had no idea and had not been contacted by Margo, though very much appreciate the mention and “plug”. It has brought us some business from San Francisco, so we enjoyed old home week as ex-Californians.
Will wonders never cease?
