Spring and snow in the Comox Valley

Last night, after a day of gardening, we unwound and eased sore muscles in the hot tub.  The sky was clear, the moon bright and the stars amazing.  Our winter here by the sea has been so mild that we’ve had almost no snow.  Compare that to Mt. Washington just 35 minutes drive away with almost 4 meters!

It’s only February 23, but spring is coming fast.  Look at the pictures I took from Gabi’s room at 10:30 this morning.  It’s a little hazy now but should burn off by noon.

We are busily getting the garden and grounds ready and enjoying the warm sun while outside.  Buds are everywhere!  We’ve pruned the hydrangeas, wisteria vine, berry bushes and lots more.  As soon as we are sure of no more freezes we’ll bring out the fountain and start it up.  We are going to dig out a small pond for it so there won’t be so much splashing on the front porch.  The only tricky part will be convincing Tip and Pocos, our two Flat Coats, to stay out of the pond.

We’ve just launched our new website and hope you’ll pay it a visit and let us know what you think.  It also has some terrific specials for 2 and 3 night stays.  We’d love to hear from you.

All the best,

Walter and Haideh
